We're Off ... we'll almost

Tomorrow morning early, we leave for the airport to try to get on an airplane to Chicago. We want to visit before Keegan starts Kindergarten on July 12th. We were planning on leaving tonight (Friday), but the flights looked too full since we fly standby. So we opted for Saturday. Hopefully we will get out. Summer is just not a good time to try to fly standby with the all the families taking their annual vacations while the kids are out of school. Luckily, since Keegan was accepted into the year round program at Morrisville Elementary , this will be the last time we have to try to fly during the busy summer months. The kids are VERY excited to be going of course. I originally thought it was because we were flying, but now I think it's just because we are going to "Illinois where Leena is". Leena for those of you whom don't know, is Grandma and Grandpa Clarkes cat. One of three which they have, and of course which I am allergic too. We have rented a car, a 2007 Chevy I...

See I Told You So

Well, it's been what, 2 YEARS - yes YEARS since I last posted. I can't believe that my blog was still active. I figured Blogger would have de-activated and deleted the account by now. What's new with us - or better yet - where are we at for those of you who don't really know us? Well, we still live in Cary , NC. I've been here for almost exactly eight years now. Amanda, has been here for a little less, but not much. We still live in the first house we ever bought, although it looks quite different on the inside and in the back then it did when first purchased. We came here with no children, but now we have three. Three boys that is - Keegan (age 5 yrs 2 months), Carson (age 3 years 6 months) and Ian (age 1 year 5 months). No pets - although Keegan and Carson would just love to have a cat, but unfortunately I have bad cat allergies now, so that isn't an option, otherwise we would have one or two. I have been through numerous jobs since moving here, all moves exce...

What a let down ....

Why - why am I such a procrastinator at times?

Holly Cow - I told you !

I feel horrible ... if you read my first two posts, you know I wanted to keep it much more up-to-date that the approximately seven months it's been!!! How poor on my part. Sorry kids. Time just goes so fast when you get older. By the time you read these logs, you'll perhaps understand that better. I always remember hearing as a child, how 'this is the best time of your life', and 'time just goes so fast'. Well, let me tell you - it's TRUE ! You better believe it.
Amazing. Amazing how fast time goes. It's the old cliche I know, but as I age, I understand. The last couple of nights have been a whirlwind of ... nothing, yet time has flown by. Trying to paint the family room with Amanda, your mother, getting erands run, etc. Keegan helped me change a closet doorknob out. A simple job - five minutes, quickly turned into a thirty minute task. But Keegan wants to help with any and everything - and he's only 22 months old. Of course I love to have him help - hold the screwdriver, hold the screws we remove, help screw in the the new screws. It's rewarding for me to see him learn, to see his fascination with new things - and he can't be torn away from the task, not with television, not with food, not with distracting noises from nearby. A simple doorknob, one he learned long ago how to open and close. Behind it lay the family food pantry, which among other things contain his fun snacks. Carson, you continue to sleep ...
Well, I'm off. After probably three or four years of wanting to do something like this on my own, this great site comes my way. Now I can just begin typing without having to deal with all the behind-the-scenes work. Ah, sometimes the internet is great indeed! So enough about that, now I have to figure out what I want. My initial thought, and what I'm sticking with right now, is that this blog will be about my daily life. Boring to most, interesting to few, outstanding maybe to none - but I want to record it. I have trouble remembering what I did two days ago. Perhaps this will help me. But my biggest reason for this is for my kids - my two sons - Keegan and Carson.
