End of the Month
31 May 2007 [Thursday]
Rode into work again today. On the way to work, noticed at a stoplight that I had my Guzzi crashbar still 'resting' on the front of the bike! YIKES! Pulled over at the next side street. On Wednesday I was showing Keegan were it went as I had to put it back on, and I left it there and forgot about it. The only thing holding it on, was the 2 brackets to the horn!!! So I strapped it to the back of the seat. I was going to go out and lunch and try to put it on in the parking garage, but I am not feeling well in 'certain areas' so skipped that. I'll have to strap it back on the seat on the ride home, or perhaps zip tie it to the frame and put it on this weekend.
I need to spend some time this weekend doing three things (1) Put the crashbar back on, (2) Changing the gearbox oil in the Guzzi and (3) Putting the Ural back together (from the broken interupter from the Ride For Kids!) We'll see how much I actually get done with how hot it's been outside (and in the garage).
We still have not had any rain in Cary. My allergies are getting really bad as the air is so 'dirty'. I sure wish it would rain a bit.
30 May 2007 [Wednesday]
Worked from home today as usual. Amanda worked until 2pm, so it was nice to have her home earlier. We all went to Keegans swim class tonight and then when it was over went swimming in the pools until almost 8:30pm! Walked home and the kids headed to bed. Nice relaxing way to unwind for everyone I think in the pool at night and a nice slow walk home. We'll do the same tomorrow.
29 May 2007 [Tuesday]
Rode into work today again on the Guzzi. Keegan had his best friend Timothy over all day (9-4pm!). Amanda said they had a great time, playing outside in the water and inside with toys. Carson and Ian enjoyed having someone else there as well.
Tonight Keegan has his first swim class at the YMCA! I'm excited he's going to learn and can't wait for Carson to start at the end of June for his class.
It was raining when I rode home. I missed the downpour section. Was actually fun for a change to ride in the rain as it added a different 'element' you could say to my usual ride home (and usual route).
Swim class still went on, as the rain held back. He did GREAT! Actually swam with just a noddle (and no back float) for the first time. Two entire lengths of the lap pool! Amanda stayed home with Ian and Carson as they were worn out from the play day with Timothy over.
28 May 2007 [Monday]
Memorial Day holiday so I have off of work. We stayed home and played. Had our big grilling outside this afternoon. We used the smokey joe outside in the driveway to do our burgers and hot dogs and we used the gas grill in back to cook our corn. Was all great tasting as we ate out on the deck for lunch.
27 May 2007 [Sunday]
Hung around the house most of the day. Again, a very hot day. 90F and sunny. Went over to Malia and Jerry's at 5pm for their Memorial Day party. Had a good time and the kids had fun once they warmed up. They really got going once the water balloons were brought out. We stayed until about 9:30pm! I didn't think we'd be that long.
26 May 2007 [Saturday]
Went swimming at the YMCA all day basically (from 1-5pm). Kids had a great time. This was the re-opening day after the dome was taken off. It was crowded but not as bad as I thought it would be.
25 May 2007 [Friday]
Worked as usual. Rode the bike into work again. I've really gotten into a routine of riding in. I think I feel better about it because Keegan isn't in school, so he doesn't have to be dropped off so early, which gives Amanda more time to get ready in the morning. They let us go home at 2pm today as a treat for the holiday weekend which was really nice.
We met Ivonne and Rick and their kids at the Wake County Speedway! It was a great time. We got there around 7pm and stayed until 10:30pm. We all had a great time!!! We'll go back for sure again.
24 May 2007 [Thursday]
Rode the bike into work. Typical work day. Ate out at Brass Grill with some people from work. Had a bad night and morning thinking about Amanda and history. If there is one thing in life that I would pray for, it would be to be able to forget all that and move forward. I feel like I am tearing myself apart from the inside and don't know how to stop it.
Tonight at 7pm-9pm I have a meeting at Keegans school for the 'Emergent Reader program'. To help teach parents how to help their kids read better. I'm really glad to be going to it.
Amanda had Jack come over and play today. They had a great time I guess. Jack got to go down a slip-n-slide and ride a 2 wheeled bicycle for the first time ever! Amazing that he's just doing it now, but they used to live on a very busy street so he was unable to ride around and thus didn't have a bike. Sad really.
23 May 2007 [Wednesday]
Worked from home. Amanda worked all day. Nothing unusual. Heather called during the day, but unfortunetly Amanda was at work. They haven't talked in almost 2 months. We watched the final episode of Lost this season. It's still a great show and we have to wait until 2008 now for more! Ugh!
22 May 2007 [Tuesday]
Rode the bike into work. Nothing exciting. Amanda went to a YMCA class at night and I pulled all the brake pads on the Guzzi when the kids went to bed, as they have been squeeling. They all looked good though. Sanded off a few rough edges and put them back in. Such a simple procedure - 40 minutes for all 3 rotors.
Found out that Eric's step dad - Kevin - passed away! I was shocked. Eric is flying out this weekend for the wake.

Rode the bike into work. Again normal day. Nothing unusual. Amanda went to YMCA class at night and I put the kids to bed. They did great.
