Keep Going, Keep Going, Keep Going....
31 March 2008 [Monday]
Weather is still horrible. Carson starts his spring break this week, so he's home from school. Alex and TJ are in Hawaii all week, so it's quiet at the bus stop and nice! We were going to play catch at the bus stop tonight, but it was still raining this morning, so we stood under umbrella's instead. Work is very slow right now and I worry about job security down the line, as the tickets/work just aren't coming in. We are way behind from where we should be revenue wise. Good time to buckle down and pay the bills, with my bonus check and our tax refunds. But oh, how I would like a digital SLR camera....someday. I'm going to sell the Moto Guzzi and maybe be without a bike for awhile. See if I miss it, and use the money for who knows what. Maybe a new camera, and I think I would drive the Ural more if the Guzzi is gone. :)
30 March 2008 [Sunday]
Mickey headed home after breakfast and Amanda and I did the second coat of paint on the wall to finish it up which was nice. Just so glad to basically be done with that except touch up. It was an easier project that was hanging over our head and now it can be checked off! Yippeeee!
Crummy, crummy weather still. Very cold, grey and overcast all day and tomorrow too they say. We went out and got Keegan his first baseball mitt and baseballs ever. Really was neat to me to go to the store and pick that out with him. Something my father never did and I wish he would have enjoyed sports even a little bit. Funny thing was while we were at Dick's Sporting Goods in Apex, Ian really took to the baseball gloves and balls and he put one on, and was loving it, grabbing the balls and rolling them on the ground and throwing them! He loved it so much I had to buy him one. It was only $10 for a nice mitt for his size and a 'softer' ball but same ball size. Keegan got a nice $25 glove that was very soft and 'worn' in feeling, so he could close it easy. We then hit Target to get some misc. house items and headed home.
We must have played for one hour inside with the balls and gloves, rolling the balls on the ground, like they were ground balls and Keegan catching them and being able to 'stop' them. I would hop the balls once in awhile too, so they bounced a little. Too bad it wasn't nice, so we could practice real catching outside. Ian liked it too, but of course when we got home, he didn't want to use his glove like when he was in the store. :) Carson wasn't interested and played a card game with Amanda. :)
29 March 2008 [Saturday]
Crummy weather started. We took Mickey to the mall as the kids needed new croc's (Ian already got his), so it was nice for her to see the mall and just walk around. Kids got their shoes and they were on sale too. :) And thank goodness they were just plain solid colors compared to these horrid multi-colored ones we found at another store. On the way home, we stopped at the Martha Stewart homes and walked her thru them. Nice distraction during the crummy weather and kept us out of our house. The kids did wonderful walking thru them!
28 March 2008 [Friday]
Rode the Guzzi into work. Weather is so nice. I'm still sick and ended up leaving work a bit early as I had no work, and felt horrible at the end. We ate on the deck and then went out for ice cream later. Was fun and something really different for Mickey I could tell. I think she really enjoys the change of pace when she visits down here.
27 March 2008 [Thursday]
Mick and Amanda finished the drapes. They really look good and change the room layout. I'm glad Amanda had help getting them done and I know she's happy to have that off her list as well.
26 March 2008 [Wednesday]
Worked from home, and met Keegan for lunch. Mickey came down around dinner time. Kids are excited about that as usual. We went out to dinner at Firehouse subs. The weather is so nice out. We all enjoyed it and let the kids play outside there for awhile as well.
25 March 2008 [Tuesday]
Worked from home in the morning and then volunteered at Carson's school. It was nice to go there and see him. He was excited of course and it was also his show and share day so I liked seeing him do that. Really cute to see him interact with the kids! Once done there I came into work as I had a lot to do and a short amount of time to do it in of course. We should be finding out about our raises today. I heard from others that found out already that it's quite disappointing. :( I was expecting a good year too!
24 March 2008 [Monday]
Went to bed with a sore throat and woke up with one. Carson says his hurts too. Could be the cold air and the heater running a lot last night. 50F at the bus stop this morning, but by Friday suppose to be 80F ! Wow! We got the butterfly plants just in time as they all want full sun. Going out with the work team for lunch today to Duck and Dumpling. Not my favorite spot, but it's free so I can't complain! Hope my throat feels better after awhile.
