July Had Come and Gone...

30 July 2007 [Monday]

At work as usual. Amanda has volleyball tonight which I'll bring the kids to see as it's a 6:45pm game, so that will give us something to do which will be nice. Otherwise nothing special planned that I can tell.

29 July 2007 [Sunday]

Another one of those hot humid days with us stuck inside and not sure what to do. Got all the kids and mine hair cut, and then we finally headed out to go look at minivans. Stopped at the Dodge dealer. We liked the 2007, but wanted to see the 2008.
If the 2007 had side airbags and stability control we would probably make an offer on it. The 2008's arrive in about a week or so he said, but all 8 are pre-ordered already. Crazy. They are going to sell for much more money, so we have basically rulled them out but still want to see them. On the way out we drove by a new Hyundai dealer that we didn't know was back there. Amazing facility! Only been open one month. Gorgeous place. We saw their minivan, and REALLY like it. Much cheaper than the Toyota's and one we would consider for sure. We'll go back in a week or so when they get another shipment in. They only had one left.

28 July 2007 [Saturday]

Really a boring slow day. During the hot summer, it's just hard to find stuff to do. We all like to be outside, but even the kids don't want to be out much with this hot humid weather and really bad mosquitos.
Soon, in another couple of months, we should be cooling down really nice! I can't wait. We finally went out to Walgreens for Amanda to do an errand. It was great to just get out!!!! :) We then went to Chik-Fil-A which was great fun. We all ate a little and we let the kids play at the inside play area, which they LOVED. I sat and read the newspaper and Amanda walked next door to Harris Teater and got herself a Staybucks coffee which was nice. So glad to finally get out of the house!!!
Headed home around 7pm as the 'Cars' movie was playing at the YMCA tonight. It rained though, so when we arrived they had moved it inside the gym which I was grateful for. It was freezing cold in their though, and hard to sit on the ground, but still fun. Timothy (Keegans best friend) showed up so that was great. I ended up walking Ian home at 9:45pm as he wanted to go and he fell asleep. Amanda drove the others home after the movie ended. They were asleep as soon as their head hit the pillow. :)

27 July 2007 [Friday]

Back in the office today. Nothing unusual that I can recall.

26 July 2007 [Thursday]

Stayed home one extra day as my throat was still really hurting. Still tired too a lot of the time. Amanda was home today though, so that really helped out.

25 July 2007 [Wednesday]

Strep. Again. I felt horrible last night and went to bed around 7pm, aching all over and with a slight fever, but very hard to swallow. So this morning, I was no better and made an appointment right away. Had to bring Carson and Ian with, but they did TERRIFIC! I am so proud of them. I have zero energy. Walking at a turtle's pace to the bus stop and in/out of the Dr's and pharmacy. At least now I'm good at diagnosing strep right away and know to make a Dr's appointment instead of hoping to get better. This time I also have an ear infection to go with it. Amazing how fast it came on. From about 2pm yesterday, in less than 24 hrs I was miserable. So he prescribed Amoxicyllin (sp?) again - they look like horse pills, but it's the generic so it saves us $15 or $25 at least which is good.
I feel really bad for the kids as they have to entertain themselves and are eating animal crackers for lunch right now as I can't function moving around much. The kids did so good in the Dr's office that Dr. Reyonlds (he's GREAT!) gave them both popsicle type treats. Their eyes were huge as they only expected a sucker. Poor Keegan will be jealous when he hears that.
Gotta go do some tickets now so I get something done.

24 July 2007 [Tuesday]

Rode to work again. After Keegan got on the bug, my mom went to the airport for her flight home. Amanda stopped at the Outlet Mall on the way home and got me the cast iron pan I've been wanting and a grease cover. It was a nice suprise. I may return it though for the smaller size as it's huge and $30 versus the $15 for the 12" which should be sufficient. I don't even know what I'm going to cook in it yet. :)
I went out to Mexican for lunch. Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb! I think I finally learned my lesson. I had a nice can of soup I could have eaten instead. It would have been better for me, saved me money and I would have felt better afterwards but the peer presure got to me. Never again. I think this was the 'straw' that finally pushed me over the edge. To add to that, around 2pm my throat started to hurt and I started to ache. Ugh.
Noah, his mom and little sister stopped by at night unexpected. She paid Amanda for the chair covers which was really nice! It was really cool to have Keegans friends stop by like that. Unfortunetly, Keegan was really worn out from Grandma Angie being here and he just said HI a few times, but didn't move from the couch. :) They only stayed 10 minutes or so anyways.

23 July 2007 [Monday]

Rode to work. Met my mom, amanda, and the boys were at the YMCA when I got home so I met them over there and we all had a nice time swimming. Had some great BLT's for dinner and then off to bed.

22 July 2007 [Sunday]

YMCA member appreciation BBQ we went to with my mom. They had a bouncy jump and slide there. We then played in the kitchen park there for awhile. Nice time to get out of the house and do something for free! After the kids went to bed, we all went online and finally picked out a place to stay for our outer banks vacation in September! I'm so excited for that. I love having vacations lined up, so it's something to look forward to as the days go on and I know the kids will enjoy it of course. When we split it three ways with Mick, my parents and us, the week is only costing us $475. Not bad consider hotels are $110 a night in the same area (Corolla).

21 July 2007 [Saturday]

We decided to head to Wrightsville Beach all day. We got there around 10am and got home around 7pm. It was dold at first then pretty nice and worked out to be a great day. The waves were very big, and a red flag was out all day but the kids loved to play near the shore where the waves would still knock them over (and me too!) I was burnt to a crisp because it was overcast and was dumb and didn't put sunscreen on. We ate inside at McDonalds just after leaving the beach so they kids and us had some food in us. We had a great time overall!

20 July 2007 [Friday]

Grandma Clarke volunterred at Keegans school this morning and liked it I think. :) We also found out that Alex and TJ are now going to Keegans school!! Cool. Hope they ride the bus to school soon with Keegan.

19 July 2007 [Thursday]

Grandma Clarke flies in. Her flight went wall. This was also Carsons last day of bugs and butterfly class that he loves so much, but of course the kids we very happy to see my mom and played with her all day and night.

18 July 2007 [Wednesday]

Worked from home. Got to take Carson to his Bugs and Butterfly class at the Cary art center. He loves this week long class and I'm so glad Amanda signed him up for it. We'll have to keep our eyes open for another one and be sure to get him in it.

4 July 2007 [Wednesday]

Cul-de-sac 4th of July party!! Great fun, tons of people and food and fireworks. Went in at 10:30pm finally. The kids had a blast for sure and we'll have to do it again next year.
