23 March 2008 [Sunday]

Easter Sunday today. I really wish we would attend church. I'm nervous bringing the kids there as the one time Amanda tried it didn't work out well for her. Keegan would do OK, and Carson probably would, but Ian I'm not sure about. He would probably want to sit with us instead of attending the little classes they have. Anyways, we took it easy in the morning, then we headed out to buy the kids new 'jelly' shoes as they all need them bad. Unfortunately the entire mall was closed! Sears was open so we found a pair for Ian, but Keegan and Carson will have to wait until Amanada can make it back to the mall. We stopped for McDonalds before the mall. It was a treat for sure, but Amanda didn't eat a burger or fries because she's really watching what she eats. I'm proud of her for that. It tasted good, but afterwards we all felt horrible and made me confirm that I just don't want to eat that stuff anymore. Went home then and Keegan, Ian and I went on a bike ride while Amanda and Carson stayed home and planted some things in pots. The boys biked all the way to Bond Park and back through the YMCA! I was so proud of Ian especially since that is a long way for him and he fell two times, but cried just a little and got back on and made it home! He's doing terrific!!! We then went out to Lowes and bought a bunch of plants for the new pond and we got a pump and tubing and cement. So I have everything I need to finish it up now. It's just a matter of getting some time to do it now. Should take one more full day to cement it all and hook up the pond and waterfall. I'm so excited and can't wait to see it done. Then we plant the flowes and sprinkle mulch around and enjoy! Yipee!!!!!!!!! We watched a wierd movie - 10mph - about some guys going across country on a Segway scooter. Wasn't that good, but we still watched it.

22 March 2008 [Saturday]

We all went to buy the stone for around the butterfly pond. It looks so much better now that the extra black plastic is burried and the stones are around the edge. I need to go back and cement them in (hopefully next weekend). We basically spent the whole day outside, as it was about 75F ! Meanwhile Chicago endured 7" more of snow last night and cold weather! Amazing. I got the DSL working again and I think next time it happens I should be able to resolve it quicker. Took better notes this time so I have them to refer back to.

21 March 2008 [Friday]

Worked from home as we are going to see Go-Diego-Go at the BTI center. Kids have off school for the Easter holiday. Show was a lot of fun, and they enjoyed it more than the Nutcracker. I was disappointed Dora wasn't as involved in the show as much as I thought she would be. After that, we headed to the mall and bought some rocket engines and then we went over to eat dinner at Bob Evans, as each of the kids had a free birthday dinner coupon. We stopped at a park on the way home and we all played until it was dark out and then headed home. Nice to do that instead of sitting after eating a big meal. It was a nice time, good food and a great day overall even though I had to work.

20 March 2008 [Thursday]

DSL still down this morning. Spent 30 minutes on phone with Bell South before I just had to go to work. I'll have to deal with it tonight when I get home and the kids are in bed. Oh joy! I hate, just hate, spending my time on issues like this. So frustrating! I'm getting close to switching to cable modem I think and canceling our home phone service all together. I wanted to work from home tomorrow as we have the "Go Diego Go" show at 4pm, but if I can't get it working, I'll just have to meet Amanda down here for it.

19 March 2008 [Wednesday]

WFH. Amanda is off this whole week as Dr. Dunsmoor is on vacation, so the office is closed. She's volunteering at Carson's school today while I volunteer at Keegans in the morning. Worked out good. I actually got to work with Keegan at the art center. He created St. Patricks day items and had a good time. Ian was with me and he really liked it. The three girls at the art center really enjoyed having him at the table and were talking to him and helping Ian make art. It was so fun to watch! Ian was being his shy self, but was speaking to them, just very softly. So cute! DSL went down late at night. Hopefully it's just system wide. I'll check in the morning.

17 March 2008 [Monday]

Back to work. Going to call the Town of Cary on Wednesday to come out and check if we have a water leak in our front yard after starting the butterfly pond. Gosh I sure hope not!!!!

16 March 2008 [Sunday]

Went to Bond Park for about 2 1/2 hours. Hiked along the stream we found a couple of months ago when we shot off rockets. We followed it all the way up and Amanda decided to crawl through a drainage tunnel under a road. All the kids did it and loved it I think. Except when we got out the other side, Amanda threw out her back! Could barely walk. So she sat at home with the heating pad the rest of the day basically. We stopped at Kroeger on the way home to pick up some basics and return that movie to the movie machine. I really like that - for $1.07, except for the part of having to go and return it, it's very cheap. Cheaper than Netflix that is for sure.

12 March 2008 [Wednesday]

Amanda's birthday! She had to work 1/2 day though as usual, and I'm back to work as well (but from home as usual). We went to Firehouse subs as is our routine, although I think we'll take a break from it because we are tired of the place, even though the kids never seem like they will be. We then went to the library and returned some books due tomorrow and we caught story time there from 7:30-8pm. Kids loved it and it was just a nice night out on her birthday where we weren't trapped in the house after work.

11 March 2008 [Tuesday]

Again, had the day off. Got a load of dirt and started to fill in the pond area and lay out the sheet for the water. I'm not happy with how it turned out, because of the wrinkles I see in it. I'm really leaning towards tearing it out and buying a preformed one! I think we have a water leak in our front yard water line though! UGH! We are so depressed right now because of it. The yard in general looks horrible and we feel like it's non stop things with the house. Always throwing money at it. Was able to stop by the bookstore and get Amanda two vegetarian cook books for her birthday at least. Didn't make a cake though, but had the kids finish a birthday card for her.

10 March 2008 [Monday]

Took PTO today just to have it off. Also have tomorrow off. Keegan starts back at school, Amanda's working, and with the 1 hour we lost because of the time change, I figured it was a good day. I was really looking forward to it and it was nice to not be going somewhere and instead just staying home!

9 March 2008 [Sunday]

Had our Y-Guides meeting at Eric and Bens house right down the street from us and it was a beautiful day so we could walk there. I really enjoyed the walk there and back the most. It was just Keegan and I and we talked and took our time. I really, really felt a special time with him during that.

4 March 2008 [Tuesday]

Very bad day for me. Just felt stressed out the whole time and having bad thoughts. I think this will always haunt me, and I hate it. Hate it more than I have ever hated anything in my life. Finally couldn't take it anymore when at night Amanda accidently poked a cotten swab too far into Carson's ear after Carson moved and his ear started bleeding really bad. So of course she took him to the Dr, in the middle of the rain storm (luckily the really bad weather came about three hours later). Amanda brought him to Darla's new office. Really nice she said, and was only about a 10 minute wait! WAY better than the emergency room as we learned our lesson from that with my calf injury several months ago! No more emergency rooms unless it's truly a real emergency and life threatening! Now I need to fix the kids wall in their room!

2 March 2008 [Sunday]

Very nice day. Amanda brought Tom to the airport early and then we went to Bond Park to look for our two lost rockets. We found them both! One stuck way, way up in a pine tree, the other in a different section of the park and smased on the ground. We ended up having to throw that one out, but at least we got to fly it again and they got to see if for the first time (as it was one of my old rockets from 25+ years ago! Amazing!).

1 March 2008 [Saturday]

Paintball with Tom and work friends. Rockets when we got home. We lost two of them in the trees. We only used 'B' size engines too, but big 'B's at that, although all of these rockets could handle 'C' size, Bond Park just isn't big enough.
