Where's The Sun?

8 April 2008 [Tuesday]

Normal day at work so far. Carson's first day back to school after his Spring Break. Amanda took Ian to McDonalds and got him a hot chocolate, and played card games with him! He loved it, and he got special time together which I am SOOOOO happy for him. He really enjoyed it Amanda said. Ian also went to 'school' at the YMCA before that, so it was nice to get him back into his routine. I hope to go to cycling class tonight finally. I'll be starting all over and am nervous about my leg, but I will take it easy for sure on it.

7 April 2008 [Monday]

I actually worked from home today as Amanda filled in for Candance as her father in-law passed away. It was a good day for me, as work was slow most of the day. After work, the kids played outside while I started mulching the mailbox area. Got it all down, but ran two bags short of mulch, so I hope to finish that on Wednesday for sure as I can pick up the mulch when I drop Carson off at school (or when I pick him up). I'm on SEV 1 call this week, but we are leaving for Williamsburg on Saturday now as Keegan has baseball on Friday night and I don't want him to miss his first practice with the team.
In the morning, Yvonne called, and asked for Carson to come over to play so I dropped him off for 1.5 hours (she had a meeting at 11am, so I had to pick him up before then). I felt really bad for Ian, as he doesn't have that yet. I think next time, we'll leave him over there as well. I think he'll do fine. We just have to make sure he uses the bathroom before he goes. :)

6 April 2008 [Sunday]

We hoped for warmer weather but that didn't happen, so this morning, we just didn't want to wait any longer and we went out and finished up the butterfly garden/pond. It really finishes it off when you finally add the mulch in front and it really looks good. Hard to believe it all started with dirt in the ground. We really did a nice job and now only need to get the plants to grow (especially the seedlings Amanda planted) and to repair/finish cementing the water bricks area. Otherwise it's done! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
I also put down the remainder of the bricks along the driveway and in front of the mailbox as we are going to mulch in that area too. Makes it faster to cut the grass now as we have less to trim/mow and we never used that section of yard anyway.
Keegan and I had a Y-Guides meeting to go to at 3:30pm, which was a lot of fun and something to look forward to during the day. He earned a feather for saying the "6 Aims", and I am so proud of how well he does. Now all that is left is for him to recite the tribe names, which is the hardest of course. But they will help him thru it.

5 April 2008 [Saturday]

Baseball practive was cancelled for yesterday and today. Really bummer. Weather is just horrible. All grey, rainy and cold. Been like this for several days and really getting us down in the dumps. Can't wait for it to life. We were going to go bowling today, so I called around 3pm, and there was a 1 1/2 hour wait for an open lane!!! So cancel that idea. Instead we hopped in the car and raced over to the movie theather to see the new Dr. Seuss movie - "Horton Hears a Who?".
Sticker Shock!!!! I couldn't believe the price for a movie. We went during matinee time thank goodness, but it was still $6.75 for us and $6.25 for the kids! Last time I went, that used to be the night time price. Now, it's $9.75 for one person at night! Ridiculous!!!! No wonder people don't go to the movies anymore and you can be assured I'm not going to be going anytime soon at all. Now I don't feel bad buying a new movie on DVD and spending the money on our 42" LCD tv.
Kids had a good time though and it was nice for a treat. I even got them one medium popcorn and a single bag of M&M's - all for the bargain price of $9!
We stopped at Lowes on the way home to pick up some bricks and two more bags of cement.

4 April 2008 [Friday]

First day of T-Ball practice for Keegan at 6:30pm. Might be cancelled because of rain.

3 April 2008 [Thursday]

Weather turned crummy again. Overcast and threat of rain for the next 3 days. Colder today, but warming again tomorrow at least. Regular day at work. Nothing special that I know of. I want to finish up the misc. odds and ends at home tonight after the kids go to bed. Finish painting the brown wall (just fixing the mistakes that are left), changing the fish water, etc. Hopefully Sunday will allow for me to finish the pond as I hate having that hang over my head. I just need some dry days to cement out there.

1 April 2008 [Tuesday]

School meeting at 7pm tonight for kids' new Elementary School. April Fool's day! Didn't get caught by any jokes at least. I really dislike this day because of always having to be catious about that.
