Another New Month by Goodness!

-- 19 October 2007 [Friday]

Carson came in this morning, hot and saying his throat hurt. Amanda kept him home from school. I spent most of today at work, trying to get a Coca Cola ticket to work. Even got on a conference call with their people and Amy Tanner trying to resolve this. ugh. Went to Mexican for lunch. I'm really going to stop going there as I don't like it anymore. I used to love it, but it just doesn't sit well with me anymore, and they raised their prices on everything it seems. Tomorrow Keegan has a birthday party at 3pm. And we are thinking of hitting the fair in the morning before that. Then at 6pm we have the 'Trunk or Treat' at the YMCA which I hope is fun. Sunday brings Dr's Dunsmoor's baby shower for Amanda at 1pm, so I'll be alone with the kids. If Carson feels OK, I'm going to bring them swimming since we haven't been in about two months I think it is. Jim and Gina left for Tampa, FL for a few days today, so we'll keep an eye on the house for them. It's really nice having good neighbors like that.

Amanda drove Keegan into school today as he wants to help with the Food Drive that Dawn is running. Alex and TJ are there in the morning with her too so he's excited. They are organizing a food drive for the school. Making signs/posters, collecting the food, organizing it, etc. I'm so proud of him to try something new. When he came home, he said he had a great time. It's only on Tuesday and Thursday and in the morning before class starts. I was suppose to have a half day today at work and then go to the fair at 12:30pm, but that never came about for me as I got stuck on cleaning up a Genzyme ticket that was due yesterday. I got that done at 3pm and just went home. Stopped at Best Buy on the way home to pick up Sid Meiers Pirates game. I never opened it - just left it sitting on the desk last night as I want to be sure I will play it enough for the $20. I think I will keep it, but Amanda still thinks I should return it. :) Went to a bicycling class at the YMCA again since I got home early. I really enjoy those classes, but I need to do something for my upper body which needs the most work. :) Carson has a slight fever Amanda said so looks like the start of a cold.

Never went to welding class last night. I think I'm tired of the class. I've tried all I have wanted to try, except a TIG machine which they don't have, so I'm having a hard time convincing myself to even go to class. I'll try to go next week, and if it's more of the same - just go into the lab and do what you want, them I'm going to stop going I think. So came home early last night and we went out to Lonestar as it was kids night. Haven't been there in years. The place was empty, which should have been our first clue. Our meals were OK, but the kids' meals were horrible. We won't go back. At least now we know. And dinner so expensive compared to the other places we have gone.

-- 16 October 2007 [Tuesday]

Worked. Welding class tonight. I did the bicycle class last night at the Y. Really didn't want to go, but once I did I really enjoyed it and felt great afterwards. I was soaked in sweat, but not as exhausted as last time...I think it's because I have been working out more and last time was like my first workout in years, so now maybe my body is a bit more used to it perhaps? Tonight or tomorrow I'll see if I won that Pirates game bid from yesterday when I get home. Keegan just called me and his tooth finally fell out!! I am so excited for him as I know it has been bothering him. I went downstairs to the BB&T office and got him a $1 gold coin to put under his pillow (and a sucker). He'll be thrilled I bet! Can't wait to see the look on his face. :) Maybe he will start to eat better now that his tooth isn't bothering him....but I doubt it. I took Carson to the library after dinner as he'd been asking for time for just us. He did so good! I was so proud of him. We sat at a table and practiced letters and numbers and then checked out some books and came home just in time for reading before bed. Was really nice.

-- 15 October 2007 [Monday]

Worked. Nothing unusual. Bought tickets to 'The Nutcracker' that is coming up in Dec. I always remember going as a kid, and want to see what it was that I saw as I can't recall. I think it was in the 5th grade when I got to go. Had to buy 5 tickets, but got us nice seats, front row of the upper balconey. Amanda has a volleyball game tonight and I may go work out before that. We'll see how the kids are behaving. I placed a bid on eBay for Sid Meier's Pirate game. I've always liked pirate games - ship battles actually, and so few are made. This game is about 4 years old, but only $15 and should be fun for a bit.

-- 14 October 2007 [Sunday]

Nice day out again. we worked outside. I dug up all 4 of the stumps from the bushes we cut down. Feels good to get that clean up and ready for planting basically. Probably in the spring because we have had so little water still. Sure hope it rains sometime soon! Alex and TJ played in the morning with us, but then they left to go letterboxing (TJ didn't want to go, as he was having fun playing but oh well). Later at 4pm, Keegan and I went to our first official Y-Guides meeting at our Chief's house. He did SOO Good and I was so proud of him. I felt bad because all the other boys are in the same class but he blended in great. He ran around with them and played, but didn't say much while playing. It will just take him a bit of time. Our next meeting is our campout on Nov. 2nd for one night which we'll all enjoy for sure. We made our name tags as our first project. He is 'Little Cloud' and I am 'Running Fox'. :) He did so good standing up in front of everyone and saying our names without hesitation. So PROUD of him. We stopped and got some oil for Amanda's car on the way home. Carson really was jealous and wanted to go, so I'm going to take him out this Wed. after work by himself for some one-on-one time.

-- 13 October 2007 [Saturday]

Dinosaur show! We all loved it! Wish we would have bought the most expensive seats to get a better feel for how big they were, but it was still great! I am so glad we went and many times I would look over at the kids and see how they were fixated on the show. So nice to see them so interested in it! When we got home they played with Alex and TJ. Keegan was playing earlier before we left for the show and didn't want to go, but then was glad he did once he saw it. It was nice that they were out to play some more when we got home. We threw a quick pizza in the oven while the kids played outside.

-- 12 October 2007 [Friday]

Nothing unusual that I can recall. Just another work day for me.

-- 11 October 2007 [Thursday]

Work. Went to our first parent/teacher conference for 1st grade at 5pm. She was running about 30 minutes behind schedule. Keegan seems to be doing really well and nothing unusual came out of it. So I was very happy. It was really quite cold out this morning - suppose to be in the mid 40's tonight! Nice for a change.

-- 10 October 2007 [Wednesday]

The finished the roof around Noon. Looks pretty good. Hope it doesn't leak. I would not hire them again, that I know. Work from home as it's a Wednesday but also to keep an eye on the roofers. The new skylight looks great with the clear glass. So glad we got that replaced!

-- 9 October 2007 [Tuesday]

I volunteered at Keegans school. Had a good time and Keegan liked it of course. I stayed thru lunch time as I had the day off. It was voting day for local elections, so we had to eat in their room on the floor. Nice change for them, as they turn the TV on for the kids so the teachers can have some quiet time. The roofers came and started putting the new roof on. They worked until 8pm at night. Ridiculous.
-- 8 October 2007 [Monday]

I worked. Crazy busy at work. I bought tickets to 'Walking with the Dinosaurs!' - i'm excited for the kids. just hope they can see good. Tickets are so expensive and we got the cheapest $28 ones + $13 fees for each ticket.

-- 7 October 2007 [Sunday]

Played at home. Watched some football. kids were having a blast inside for a change and actually behaving! did some errands later. picked up some halloween stuff. foodshopping. kids bath. watched bears beat green bay and watched movie.

-- 6 October 2007 [Saturday]

Air show was AWESOME!!! Left the house at 8am. By the time we were on the tarmac was about 10am, because of parking, waiting for shuttle, etc.
Then hit Bretts birthday party - didn't get their until 5:30pm. flew into the driveway, left the van running, wrapped the present, hoped back in and went over there. the kids were just going to the playground after eating, so perfect timing. we stayed until 7:30pm.

-- 5 October 2007 [Friday]

Worked. Picked up some pizza on the way home for dinner. We're trying to decide if we should go to the Pope AFB Air Show on Sat. or Sun. Saturday is going to be cooler and nicer weather, but the problem is we need to be back in the area by 3pm or so for Brett's 4pm birthday party! :( otherwise it would be a no brainer that we would go on Saturday instead of Sunday as Sunday is going to be HOT! :(

-- 4 October 2007 [Thursday]

Sorry, I don't remember this day.

-- 3 October 2007 [Wednesday]

Worked from home. Amanda had the day off as she had no patients.

-- 2 October 2007 [Tuesday]

Welding class. worked from home in the morning while amanda volunteered at Keegans school. I get to volunteer next week - the same day we are suppose to have a new roof put on as well. Got to do MIG welding for the first time in this class. It was very easy. I burned some holes thru, but easily got some great welds in my first class. Doesn't weld very thick steel though. We only had 115V welders to use though. 220V would be much better.

-- 1 October 2007 [Monday]

A new month! Looking forward to it. These next 3 or 4 months are my favorite time of the year. Cool weather and leaves falling. Holidays coming up. Since I joined the YMCA last week for Y-Guides, Amanda has highlighted the entire month for me of the exercise classes I can attend. :) So I'm going to try to stick to them and make her proud that I did them - and I want to get in better shape for sure. So tonight is a cycling class. I like to bike and run anyway so hopefully it will be fun. Then she has a late night volleyball game tonight. I'm so happy we are so close to the YMCA - as we really use it a lot and the pool opens again this weekend after being repainted and the dome put on.

-- 30 September 2007 [Sunday]

Went to to Bond Park again and went on a nice long nature walk. then went walkd to the playground where the kids played. We brought snacks with like we did yesterday for lunch and ate before going home. Stopped at Walmart and got some things on the way home. Played outside some more and made some dinner later. At night the kids played outside with Alex and TJ while I was on the phone outside with Micki about being on her trust.

-- 29 September 2007 [Saturday]

Beautiful day outside. 80F and breezy. We went fisihing at bond park. We all loved it. We rented a rowboat and fished off of there. We didn't catch anything and the 1 hour went buy so quick out there. I rowed to the shore and dropped everyone off and they continued to fish while I returned the boat and then came back and fished too. Carson actually caught a nice little bluegill I believe and I was so happy for him as he really wanted to catch something. As we were walking back, Amanda saw Ian had a tick on him, and he screamed when we tried to pull it off. We were all in such a bad mood then, we went home and Ian fell asleep while we all played and did misc. things.

-- 28 September 2007 [Friday]

Family Fun night at Keegans school. We all had a great time. I got there around 5pm and Amanda was already there with the kids. Keegan and Carson both won a cake at the cake walk, which we volunteered at as well for a :30min slot. Then we walked around. Keegan and Carson did the dunk tank, and Keegan actually hit it and got the teacher to fall in the water. They loved it and I was so proud of them to try it and really do well. We ate some horrible overpriced food (but most of the $$ goes to the school so it's OK). We briefly lost Ian there which made Amanda and I worry a bit. We were standing in the food line and luckily Amanda noticed he wasn't around. Earlier Keegan ran over to say hi to Timothy and Ian followed. But Keegan turned around and came back and Ian didn't see him leave, and neither did we, so Ian was still over in the next line looking around. Didn't seem scared thank goodness.

-- 26 September 2007 [Wednesday]

I worked from home as usual. Nothing major that I can recall now.

-- 25 September 2007 [Tuesday]

Worked. Have welding class again tonight. i really need to work on my brazing technique. i hope to be scored and signed off on that then I have to work on the MIG next class. that's my goal. brazing was hard for me last week, but it was also my first time trying it. Went out to sushi/thai in cary for Kierstens lunch. Really nice for a change, but I felt so guilty spending the $12 for lunch. I won't eat dinner tonight before class like I usually do to make up for some of that I figure.

-- 24 September 2007 [Monday]

Worked then went to the father orientation for indian guides. I have the sev 1 on call phone this week. Hope it won't go off tonight or tomorrow so I can make it thru my classes at least. Nice to see the iandian guides group again. we got a lot of things squared away and have our first meeting on Oct 14th! I have to get Keegans vest and my vest ordered and put our first couple of patches on. Should be fun. I hope he likes it as much as I think he will. :) Amanda took the kids to the YMCA, and keegan went into the game room and carson and ian went into ians classroonm while amanda had to play her 6:45pm volleyball game - which they lost again. hard to believe as they were champions last season.

-- 22 + 23 September 2007 [Saturday + Sunday]

Was really hot this sat and sun. Sunday we rode around to Jordan Lake checking out possible campsites for a get together with Keegans class, but they just don't look nice for a group. Amanda loved Vista Point as did I, so we'll try for a group camp in spring I figure. i feel bad canceling it, but I really want a nice site for everyone. I joined the ymca officially finally on Sunday as it's cheaper to join indian guides then by $20. I sure hope to use the Y a lot. We tried to go swimming, but the pool was closed so that stunk. they are repainting it and refilling it - which is nice at least.

-- 21 September 2007 [Friday]

Work. met amanda and kids at macaroni grill for dinner. We were both disappointed with the place for the money and will not go back. very overrated we think.

-- 20 September 2007 [Thursday]

After work, Keegan and I went back to his school for family night. We played 2 math games and he had a donut there. It was nice alone time with him and I. It only lasted an hour. We were 15 min late because he did't want to do his spelling words. But he finally did them and did good so we went.

-- 19 September 2007 [Wednesday]

Weegan had field day at school and I worked from home. We played badmitton after he got home. He fell bad in the street, his nose and knees and elbow all scraped up.

-- 18 September 2007 [Tuesday]

Worked as usual and then went to my welding class.

-- 17 September 2007 [Monday]

Back to work for me. Amanda had her first v-ball game of the new season. She was excited to go back to that. They lost though. But at least Sasha isn't on her team anymore, so I think she enjoys it more now.

-- 13-16 September 2007 [Thursday - Sunday]

OuterBanks trip to Corolloa to meet Mom, Dad and Mic. We all had a wonderful time and loved the house. We'd rent it again for sure. I hope we make this a yearly vacation. Kids just loved it as well.

-- 11 September 2007 [Tuesday]

This is our 8th wedding anniversary today! We've been together for 16 years though, 8 married. Wow, can't believe it's been that long, seems like just a couple of years ago really. I had to work, so nothing different there. I am suppose to have my welding class tonight, but it turns out that tonight from 7-9pm is also the only night that I can register Keegan and I for the YMCA Indian Guides in our area! What timing. I really want to go to welding, but in the scheme of things this is much more important and I want to be sure that he has a chance to do this. This is the first year he can go in, since he's in first grade now, and it continues thru seventh grade if he likes it, which I hope he does. Then in a couple of years Carson can join, and then Ian of course.
They are going to seperate us by girl/boy child and then by zip code and you just meet people from your zip code and try to form a tribe right then and there, so it's an important meeting for me to attend I feel, as there is no gaurantee I can get in after this and would have to wait another year.

-- 10 September 2007 [Monday]

Keegan had his first day back at school today after his three week break. Good for him to go back as he was really getting rambunctious the last week or so. He needs that structure and seeing his friends again. I went to work as usual, and Amanda went in to help Dr. Dunsmoor out after dinner.

-- 8- 9 September 2007 [Saturday, Sunday]

Can't recall what happened. Haven't updated this in about four weeks! My bad!
