9 November 2007 [Friday]
Going on my lunch hour to see if I can meet up with Keegan down at the museum as I did last year. It's his last day before track out and they are going on a field trip again to the same place as he went in Kindergarten. Wish they would go to a different museum, like the art museum perhaps.
8 November 2007 [Thursday]
Nothing unusual. Worked. Met Trey for lunch with Joanne and Laine. Nice to hang out with some different people for lunch. Went to Moe's in Cameron Village. Expensive for lunch, but again something different.
7 November 2007 [Wednesday]
Worked from home. Amanda worked 1/2 day. Helped Jim at night go and get the ping-pong table for Steven's birthday - it was big and heavy! Funny part came when the garage door started to close on us when we were trying to carry it in, because Jim had the opener in his pocket. :) Helped Keegan at night really tackle his reading with all the books Mrs.. Martin sent home after telling us he was distracted during silent reading, and then Keegan explaining it's only because he knows how to read only one book of the six he has to choose from and so he's bored of that one. So we sat down and read two others he got through pretty easy. He really did struggle with the others, and I put another note in to let Mrs.. Martin know that.
6 November 2007 [Tuesday]
Went into work. Felt like forever that I was in the office but really it was only 3 1/2 days. Sad it feels like that. Have welding class tonight. The temperature has really dropped off during the day and it's going to be a cold one tonight. For some reason I decided not to take a jacket this morning as it was so nice out. Now I will regret it when I get out of class tonight!

I worked from home as Amanda worked a whole day today. Dr. D is in California so her friend is filling in. Amanda loved it, office ran on time and she was home by 5:15pm which was really nice. Carson stayed home from school as he was still sick until about 1pm. He slept a lot and work was pretty easy luckily so all was good.
4 November 2007 [Sunday]
Cooking Turkey dinner - was great. Went to Sk8te park to see the BMX bikes - kids loved that. Carson started throwing up around 2am...luckily I heard him in my sleep (as he climbed in bed with us) and wasn't too bad. Of course we didn't sleep much the rest of the night.
3 November 2007 [Saturday]
Home from camping. Carson has Isabella's birthday party at 11:30am at Pump-It-Up. Amanda is bringing Anastasia along so Carson is extra excited about that too as he doesn't see her much anymore as she is not in his school.
2 November 2007 [Friday]
Worked from home in the morning. Have PTO starting at Noon for our camping trip. It is COLD. 57F right now and very windy. The worst day to choose camping that we could have. On top of not being able to have a fire because of the drought and only grills with covers are allowed as well. Most people aren't coming until 4pm. So we will only be up for 4 or 5 hours I assume. I'm bringing several card games and backgammon so we can get in the tent and be a bit warm and stay up and play games. He'll enjoy that as we won't be interrupted by his brothers and we'll be playing by flashlight which he'll really like I'm sure. I'm going to load up the truck, do a final run to the food store and then pick him up around 2:30pm and get there around 3pm I figure. Going to be a challenge to setup the tent in the wind and without Amanda's help.

Had three unexpected layoffs of executives at work today. People that could go IMO, so that was nice to see from a business standpoint. Got a lot of work done and then headed home to start gathering what I could for camping tomorrow. Got the kids in bed on time as they were still quite tired from last night and you could see it in their behavior.
31 October 2007 [Wednesday]
Halloween! I'm so excited to be going with the kids tonight! In the morning I have to go to the YMCA to get my FitLinx ID finally so I can start a true workout routine hopefully. Should only take an hour so I should be home in time to start work.
Everything went well in the morning, got my ID. Now need to get thru this busy week and I'll start working out on Monday again.
Trick or treating was a great time. Weather was just perfect and the kids enjoyed walking with Alex and TJ. Dawn really took charge and led them all around. Ian didn't make it far before tiring and we pushed him in the stroller and now and then he would want to get out and go to a house. Felt bad for him as he couldn't keep up with the gang, but Carson went with Ian most of the time as well since Carson's legs were tired as usual - and he was too busy trying to eat a piece of candy between each house. :)
Kids were actually in bed by 9pm, but took awhile for them to fall asleep from the candy no doubt.
30 October 2007 [Tuesday]
Drove Keegan to school to drop him off at his volunteer class for the food drive. Rushed to work to make our company meeting which started at 9:30am today. Boring as usual. We had a free Mexican buffet lunch out of it though and the day is almost over now since it didn't end until 1pm! Have welding class tonight which again I don't feel like going to, but I made such great progress during my last class that I only have two items to get graded on now until my sheet is complete! If I could just get one done tonight that would be great. It's a vertical weld which is difficult as the weld wants to run down because of gravity, so it's very slow going to complete the required 5" length across. Weld, cool a bit, weld, cool a bit, etc. I may try to leave a bit early as I have to do some Peopleclick work tonight, so I'm not so stressed tomorrow. I plan on only working until 3pm tomorrow as that is when the Halloween celebration starts here, so I'm going to get ready for our trick or treating at home as well I figure!

Cold this morning! 40F Hard to get out from under the covers. Work. Carson has the day off for teacher conference. Amanda took Ian and Carson to YMCA in their Halloween outfits which she worked out. They got to go around and trick or treat at the YMCA I believe? Amanda volleyball.

Tried to play tennis in the A.M, but YMCA not open till 1pm. Went to Cary's Sk8te park. Watched the skateboarders for about :45 minutes and we all enjoyed it. It was cold and windy though and looked like rain any minute, but it never materialized. Headed home, ate lunch, played, then went and played tennis till 5pm. Home, took bath, ate and then bed.

Pumpkin shopping. Got it at the same farm as the last few years but across the street this time. They sold their other property to developers and I know it will only be a matter of time before they sell their remaining land. Not sure where we'll get pumpkins then, but I really don't like the idea of getting them from a foodstore so I will go on a hunt if I have to. We then carved them at home in the driveway which everyone enjoyed. Later at night we went to the Cary haunted house for kids which was a huge disappointment. It had two people dressed up and then a 'play' area which was really really lame. We went to eat dinner at McDonalds play land so they kids could get some energy out and doing something fun before we then headed home.
22 - 26 October 2007 [Monday - Friday]
Nothing unusual. Finally started to get a lot of rain on Wed, Thur, Fri and suppose to continue thru Saturday! Great. I think we'll end up with about 4" overall! But we are still several FEET below normal, so hopefully people will remember that and continue to conserve. The temperatures have really dropped off too, so it's in the 60's during the day and 40-50's at night. Really feels like fall now with the leaves on the ground, and colder temps. Next week we turn our clocks back too!
Hard to believe that we are leaving on our Illinois trip in about 3 weeks. I need to get started planning our route there and the places we'll stop at along the way.

Sunday Amanda up early to cook for baby shower she had to go to at 1pm. helped her rush to get ready. she left.we played, ate lunch, then swam for 2 hours, played some more. exhausted. :) weekend flew by.
We wanted to get pumpkins but never made it. We'll try this weekend on Sat. and get whatever and carve them right away too. it's been so warm they'll rot if we carve them now.

We were at the state fair by 9:30am, left around 1:30pm. Home. Eat.
play for :45 min then off to another birthday party in Holly springs this time. 1.5 hr party, home. play. freshen up.
roll out the sidecar, decorate it all, drive to the YMCA for their Trunk or Treat as I had to be there 1 hour ahead of time to get a spot and decorate the rest.
Then did that whole thing, and didn't get home until after 9pm. Exhausted. :) Kids hyped on sugar till 10pm and then out.
