Back In The Routine Again

7 December 2007 [Friday]

Worked. Went out to lunch with the guys as we usually do. Nothing unusual. Amanda found out her speeding ticket that we thought would only be $75 is going to be $170 when court costs, etc. are added in. What a scam, and it is so aggravating!

6 December 2007 [Thursday]

Worked as usual. At night after the kids went to bed, I worked on getting Ubuntu 7.10 ready to install on the new HP laptop we have. Windows Vista is just too much of a pig and I can see I will easily get irritated with it quickly waiting for the hard drive to stop running as it swaps stuff in and out and I don't want to spend another $100 now on another 1 GB of memory. I just need to get a restore disk from HP first before I wipe the laptop off - just in case. :)

5 December 2007 [Wednesday]

Worked from home as I always do on Wednesday's now. Work went good and the kids did good. It was easier than Monday as Keegan's first day back at school was today. He did great as well. Was just hard to get him up and going on time. Went to a cycling class at the YMCA again. Felt good to get back to one and I still enjoy it. The hard part is getting myself there!

4 December 2007 [Tuesday]

Nothing unusual. Went into work. Felt wierd to be back. Wish I could retire. :)

3 December 2007 [Monday]

Worked from home for my first day back at work. Amanda had to work a full day today which is nice for the extra money to pay for vacation. Keegan has two more days off before track in starts again. Today was Carson's first day back at school and he did great as he always does!

2 December 2007 [Sunday]

At night Keegan and I went to Staples and bought a new laptop computer finally. They had a great deal on a new HP DV6626US for $650 after $200 in rebates. Seems to be a really nice laptop and they also had other rebates when you purchases a laptop at the same time which allowed us to get a new Canon printer/scanner/copier for $10 ! You can't beat that. It is pretty big though from the store display I saw because it has a full size flatbed scanner built in, but I can't pass it up for $10.

1 December 2007 [Saturday]

We got home last night around 5:30pm from our Illinois trip which was a lot of fun. The kids did great on the ride home. Today at 3pm we are meeting with our Y-Guides to participate in the Apex Christmas Parade!

17-31 November 2007

We were gone on our Illinois vacation for two weeks. We all had a great time and enjoyed being back. But it was sure nice to return to our beds and have more than four clothes outfits to choose from.

16 November 2007 [Friday]

Final day of work before we leave on our Illinois trip. Have to finish packing tonight, and we'll load the car up tomorrow morning probably. Amanda has volleyball practice tonight.

15 November 2007 [Thursday]

Nothing unusual. Was raining this morning which was nice. Then the weather really cooled off compared to yesterday's mid 70's. Worked then went home. Amanda is going to a Moms night out tonight at Daniells which will be nice for her. We need to start packing for our trip Saturday. Keegan had his friend Andrew come over this morning, and I guess it went well from what he told me on the phone when he called.

14 November 2007 [Wednesday]

Worked from home. Amanda has to work all day which is nice for the extra money to help cover our trip in a few days. Going to be 75F today! Amazing for being near the end of November. We met Amanda for lunch at her work then the kids played outside while I worked (outside) on the laptop. I went to a cycling class again. I really do like those!

13 November 2007 [Tuesday]

Worked and had welding at night. Was home by 8pm though as the class part is basically over. I welded up some huge weird structure as I have become really bored with just doing straight lines. I will miss the next two classes as we are on vacation and then after that I only have two more classes left thank goodness as I feel I'm done with this class and have learned what I wanted and even more really. When I was leaving around 8pm, the guys standing around outside said they saw six kids dressed in black running through the parking lot with swords! One was hobbling like he was hurt and they headed off into the dark woods! Talk about creepy! Campus security was going around looking for them.

12 November 2007 [Monday]

Can't recall anything out of the ordinary. Worked. I went to a cycling class at the YMCA which was the hardest one yet. New instructor I never had, but my legs felt it for the entire next day which is good I suppose! Keegan is on track out now and Carson had the day off for Veteran's day.

11 November 2007 [Sunday]

After lunch time Keegan and I met up with our Y-Guides group for our Fall Festival at Camp Katana. We got there around 2pm and had a GREAT GREAT time! I am so happy that Keegan and I joined this as it's really neat to spend time along with him and see him experience new things and do great at them. Once we got there we unloaded our stuff at a picnic table, then went on our two mile hike, which earned us a new small feather patch. We also got another feather patch for camping awhile ago. After the hike we went to play floor hockey, but Keeegan would not even try it. It really looked like a lot of fun, but I could not get him to try it no matter what. So we wall climbed instead, and he did great at it and didn't give up. Then we went on a 'wire' course where he had to balance on wires while holding on to some ropes, which he really liked and did great at as well. Then we played on this big board that was rocking on a huge log. We did some mini golf and then headed back to grill our early dinner. After that we all lined up to march down to the water for our Y-Guides inauguration which was really fun as well. All the new tribes were announced and the head chief responsibilities was passed on to a new person. A HUGE bang lit the bonfire at the beginning of the ceremonies. It made everyone jump! We headed home then and Keegan and I stopped for an ice-cream cone to end out a great day!

10 November 2007 [Saturday]

A whole bunch of misc. stuff today. We first went to Bond Park and attempted to fly some kites on the big hill. It was quite chilly at times, and then would get warm when the sun came out. The wind was too inconsistent, so the kite flying did not go well at all. We got in the van and then did a whole bunch of errands...got oil for the cars, Walmart for misc. stuff, new gym shoes for Keegan and crocks for Carson. Ian's shoes are all in good shape as he is not hard on them yet like his older brothers. Then headed home and had a normal night with nothing unusual that I recall.
