I Had a Big Setback!

16 May 2008 [Friday]

Another work day. Had a hard time getting Keegan up because of our late night last night. Felt bad for him, but it's his last day at the Bond Park camp which he really loves. He's got baseball practice on Sunday and then we will leave for the beach probably Monday I'm guessing. I've been trying to get a Wii online now for us, but still, they are hard to come by! I should have never sold the one Amanda got near Christmas, but at the time, we didn't want the extra expense.

15 May 2008 [Thursday]

Finally went back into work after over three week of working from home! Felt good to be back in the office. Only used the crutches to walk to/from work, then hobbled around the office.
We all went to the Durham Bulls 7pm game after work. Peopleclick group organized it. The kids LOVED IT! We stayed until the end of the game and got home at 11pm. Amazingly, they all were still awake. Keegan really payed attention and asked a lot of questions. I think him seeing it in person really helped him understand more of it. It was great fun to watch how much he enjoyed it. Of course Carson and Ian cared more about the food. Carson especially...the cotton candy, french fries and popcorn. We ended up buying 6 hotdogs, 5 french fried, 4 popcorns and 1 cotton candy. It was $1 night, so everything was $1, except for the $5 cotton candy. They loved it and so did I. It was such a nice change of pace from our normal nights at home. Keegan was exhausted as he had his Bond Park camp the whole day as well and they took a field trip to a pump-it-up type of place near the Cary mall.

2 Friday 2008 [Friday]

Lot of gaps in this log because of my injuries. I've been working from home everyday and just sitting with my leg up in the chair or on the couch. Getting so tired of being stuck at home as I'm just an outside person. Today was very painful for me, as Keegan and I were suppose to leave to go to the Y-Guides Spring Outing. I feel so guilty inside that we cannot go! The only thing making it better is knowing that we will be able to attend next years for sure and won't miss it no matter what!

21 April 2008 [Monday]

I had today off as we get our birthday as PTO, but since my landed on Sunday I choose to take Monday off so I could volunteer at Keegan's school and spend as much time with him as possible, since today was his true birthday. We'll I volunteered, and then that's when everything went sour. On the way home, I crashed the Moto Guzzi on Cary Parkway right in front of the Fresh Market. What is so aggravating is that I was not wearing my good BMW cycle pants, but just jeans. That really messed up both my knees bad as well as the back of my calf. A small brown four door Toyota switched over into my lane without looking or signaling. I saw it start to happen though, so grabbed some front brake to clear their car. I hit some bumps and my front wheel locked up and down I went.

20 April 2008 [Sunday]

Had Keegan's 7th birthday party today at the YMCA. He choose a 'sports' theme. About 15 kids total, which was PLENTY! They all had a great time and we played in the gym for about an hour. Soccer, dodge ball, duck-duck goose, ballon pop, etc. It was chaos at times trying to get them organized and to listen, but Amanda and I eventually did it and everyone had fun. Timothy got a bit wild, but other than that is was great. We had enough time for him to open presents there too. Just as we finished packing up the van, a storm was about to roll in. Very dark skies. I love it when the weather is like that. Not sure why, but something I have always looked forward too (as long as no tornado's come out!)
