On to a new week

Another normal day at work. Not busy at all, but boring. Cold out today - high of 58F. Nice in a way for a change but hard on the kids to play outside and get all that energy out.

Rainy and overcast all day. We did some errands during the morning/early afternoon and then at 3pm I took Keegan to another birthday party, this time for Sydney. He wanted me to go again, but this time it was at the YMCA just a couple blocks away from the house, so we were able to walk there which was really nice! The rain had stopped and it was very quiet and peacful outside. I really enjoyed the walk there and back with him. He had a great time at the party overall and ran around and particapted well once he got warmed up. He had a bit of a 'verbal' altercation with Timothy (his best friend he claims) and Aaron (I think). Something about Keegan was going to 'X' Aaron and not invite him to any parties. Ugh. It was very uncomfortable for me when it all came up and Keegan wouldn't speak and basically clammed up. I really think Timothy said it and blamed it on Keegan after Amanda and I talked with him further once he got home. He's told us before about this 'X' game and how Timothy came up with it, but regardless it's over and I'm sure it's just the first of many issues we'll have with the boys as they get older and pick friends. :) I was able to meet Timothy's parents and Jack's mom and they agreed the kids would love to play together. Those three hang out all the time and each of the parents have heard of the other kids. Keegan says these are his two best friends and we always hear stories about them.

Amanda and I watched a movie at night after the kids were all in bed by 8pm ! They had a bath and books and did really good. We really have them in a good routine for bedtime assuming Amanda and I get it started on time. :)

Day started out with me taking a Ural ride to get the oil nice and hot. Started right up this time since I had the battery charging. What an adventure. My first real ride on it alone and out of the subdivision. I was gone about an hour. What an adventure! Only rode 21km in that hour. Bike ran much better than before and idled a LOT better. But once it got hot about half way into the ride the idle was just too low as it wanted to die when stopped unless I kept blipping the throttle. It shifted horribly which I attributed to a Ural, and about 45 minutes into the ride, the left audio speaker the previous owner installed snapped right off the handlebar! Yikes. I kept saying I wanted to remove them as they were ugly, so now I guess I'll get that chance. I'll probably sell them on eBay with the headunit as I'll never use it either. So when I got home I drained the gearbox oil and to my horror it was like milk! Yikes! Panic set in. This happens to oil when it gets water in it. I should be Ok according to others input I just need to seal the speedometer cable that enters the top of the gearbox and lets water in and then run an oil change through it to remove any last traces of water. I then drained the engine oil and was even in more of a panic! A good 2" long piece of metal was attached to the metalic drain plug. Looked like a paperclip. The Ural webboard is pretty sure it's safetywire on the bottom of the oil pickup screen, so I'm going to remove the oil pan to check and replace it if so. I sure hope it is as that will have caused no damage if so. I'll take that opportunity to clean out the sludge in the bottom of the oil pan too. Other than those three scary things it ran like a champ and I had fun! I need to get the oils back in and the speakers off and then figure out the carbs. I think they need a very good cleaning and I got a couple products to try, but in the end I'll most likely have to take them apart which I'm not to keen on doing.

Keegan had a birthay party for Alex B. today at Michaels at 3pm. So I took him as he wished. Turns out parents really couldn't stay as the room was so small, so I had about 1.5 hours to kill. Went to BJ's looking for oil for the motorcycles which they didn't have, then stopped at the Crossroads Ford new showroom which is HUGE. All indoors too.
Keegan had a great time at the birthday party and made another bubblegum craft like he did earlier in the summer Jenna's birthday party at Elaine's house. Keegan was so nice to tell me that he was giving this one to Ian, since Ian didn't get to make one at Elaine's. It was really sweet of him to think of this on his own.

Amanda had made a deep dish pizza while we were gone! MMMMmmm, delicious as usual. Keegan and I stopped at Walmart on the way home to get oil (which they didn't have either) but ended up buying lots of misc. household goods we needed.
