How much longer can I post with this detail?

--16 November 2006 [Thursday]

I'm not sure how much longer I can keep up with this blog! I think I'm getting weighed down in the details in my attempt to capture every last minute detail for our kids to recall when they grow up. Sheesh, how do I even know they will want to read this stuff later on. It could be so very boring to them. I remember when I was younger I knew about my mothers and fathers enormous slide/print collection of all their memories, but that's about it. I never delved into it much and still haven't to this day. But now as I get older I do think about the day that I will go back and view them all (and I know I will). I guess as long as they are still around though I'd prefer to interact with their current being and stories rather than the past. There is time enough for that later .. I hope.

As far as today, it's a normal day. Pouring down rain and a windy though. I got soaked on the drive in. First time getting in the car, then back out as I forgot my parking pass in the house, then once back in, a spider appeared on my leg! Yikes! You know me and spiders. Out I hoped in the pouring rain and threw an old towel that was in the car over me as I tried to find the spider in the car without luck. Hope back in, totally soaked now and sitting on a soaked towel as the car seat got wet overnight from the leak by the drivers door (as it rained most of the night as well). Ahh, had a lovely wet spot on my behind during the first couple of hours of work today.

Amanda took all the kids to see the movie 'Cars' at the $1.50 Raleigh theater. They did very good she said. It was Carson's and Ian's first movie, and I was very sad not too see it with them, but I took Keegan to his first movie (Madagascar) so it was OK that Amanda went without me. Besides it was a miserable day outside and they would be stuck in the house otherwise.

Worked from home as usual. Amanda worked 1/2 day in the morning which was nice for the extra income. Keegan liked me being at home, but I just wish I could have played with him more. It's hard for him to understand why I am at home, but at the same time can't play with him much because I'm suppose to be working.

It was a nice day outside for sure. I fired up the Ural after work thinking I could take the boys for a ride and the left carb starting leaking gas all over the garage floor. Seems like the float bowl is stuck. I really knew I needed to take them apart and clean the crud in them, and now I know for sure I do.

Amanda went out at night for a girls' night out with the parents that are in Carson's pre-school class. She had a nice time at dinner and talking with them. I'm really glad she got a change of pace as she needs it. I just wish she would do it more.

Rode the Guzzi into work today. Fun. They had the book fair in the lobby at work. I bought a puzzle book for the boys for Christmas (or perhaps for Carson for his birthday). The great thing was that I won the free book drawing at the end of the day. I had hurriedly entered it, so I picked a book that I would like to have gone back and changed, but can't complain as it was free. it's a huge 400+ page book about the entire Civil War. I figure it will come in handy as I'm sure the kids will eventually have to write a report about it at some point during their schooling...although I can't recall having to do that in my school years now that I think about it.

Can't remember much about this day as I'm writing this on Thursday. Nothing spectacular as far as I can recall. Just another normal day I'd say.

It was not nearly as nice out today as yesterday and I can't recall much about this day, but I don't believe we did anything out of the ordinary. Our big weekend event was the zoo all day yesterday.

It was a beautiful day today! Just perfect weather. 70's, slight breeze and a few clouds. So we went to the zoo in Asheboro, NC. This was Ian's first time and I believe Carson's second, but he was so small he didn't remember the first. When we told the boys, neither of them wanted to go, but they loved it when we were done. We arrived around Noon and had a picnic lunch outside by the truck and then left around 4pm after walking the entire length of the park and riding the tram back. They really had a great time as did we.

Stopped at a nearby Wendy's on the way home to get some food in them, but Carson and Ian were out. Keegan, Amanda and I sat in the front seat and enjoyed our food and conversation. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Ian did wake up to eat at the end, but not much. Just a very nice day overall. I think we got home around 6:30pm or so.

Unfortunately, since it's 11/16/2006 as I write all of these entries, I can not recall anything that happened on this day. I know I worked and went home, but other than that nothing spectacular comes to mind. Sorry for the lack of detail. Work has just been busy overall and I have not had time to update this as much as I wanted.
