Apparently Not Much Longer

YIKES! it's been nearly two weeks since my last entry. I am terribly sorry. It just seems to get so hectic when the holidays approach. I will remember as much as I can, for the blanks I leave I am sorry.

Today is another normal day at work. Grandpa Tom is leaving for home tonight on the 7:45pm flight. Amanda or I (if I get home in time) is taking him to the airport and then our plan is to bring the kids to Golden Corral for dinner since it's Kids' night on Tuesday and they eat for .99 cents each and we haven't been in about three weeks.

It's another beautiful day outside I'm told. In the high 60's/low 70's! Wow and it's soon December 1st. Amazing. I sure do wish for a colder winter though with a lot of snow for the kids (and me!).

Back to work. Yuck. I sure do enjoy my days off and look forward to my 11 days of vacation starting Dec 23rd!

I had my first ever MRI done. It was on my right knee. It's been bothering me with a bit of cramping/pain feeling in the back for some time. They didn't find anything with the tendons, but did find a Baker Cyst in there. Nothing to worry about know, but it helps explain why the back of my knee feels very stiff sometimes as that is a symptom I found while researching it online. Took 30 minutes in the Philips MRI machine. Man what a big machine. Luckily I didn't have to slide all the way in, just up to my shoulders. Had headphones on they gave me to drown out some of the jackhammer noise and listen to the radio. Made it go a lot faster.

Carson had to go back to school today and he did great! I'm so proud of him doing so well there. We got his 'Pump-It-Up' invites in the mail on Sunday and Amanda handed them out at school today. I hope people come, given that we are having it on the 18th of Dec (the 16th was already booked) - AND - that a classmate of his is having her birthday there the week before which we did not know about when making our reservations. So far we have gotten two 'YES' replies so that makes me feel good.

My dad and I went and saw the new James Bond movie 'Casino Royale' at the 8:45pm showing after the kids were in bed. Great movie. I look forward to the series again, as it's now much more believable without all the gimicks the last few movies have had in the series. We didn't get home until about 11:45 and then straight to bed. It was a 2 1/2 hour movie.

We went swimming at the hotel pool again in the morning after having a great continental breakfast at the hotel. What a nice hotel Amanda and I agreed. We'll for sure stay here next time we are visiting. Kids loved swimming again of course. Keegan just looked totally worn out after about an hour, but we stayed in for almost two and they didn't complain. Grabbed a quick shower and checked out and headed over to Carls and Mic's. We brought some Dunkin Donuts over for a treat. Those didn't last too long. Keegan had about 4-5 of them! It was his lunch. We let him have them for a treat as he has done just great on this trip. No complaining and he's listened really well. Ian at six donut holes and probably would have had more too. What a sweat tooth these kids have. Carson ate probably three donuts total, but bit into about six. :)

We played outside at the Deckers' and just visited in general. We finally got on the rode home around 4pm. Rode home was uneventful. I had not eaten lunch at the Deckers, so when we stopped for gas I grabbed this big packaged burrito. I figured it was big, and was only $1.69. Man it tasted good, but by gosh I didn't think I would make it home. About 35 miles from home my stomach felt like it was turning inside out. Ugh. It was horrible, and I should have known better than to eat gas station food.

We made it home just before 8pm and grabbed some late leftover turkey dinner and let the kids play a couple of hours to unwind from the ride and then off to bed for all.

Up early this morning to leave for Williamsburg, VA to visit the Deckers and meet up with my mom. Was a nice ride up, and got there right around Noon. The hotel was not empty yet so we could not check in. Went to Mick and Carls and hung out until about 3pm at which time we went and checked in. Beautiful hotel. Great place for the price. Looked brand new. Amanda stayed at the hotel with Ian since he is sick and cannot be in the house with Carl while the rest of us went back and had dinner at the Deckers (Amanda knew this was the plan but still wanted to go and I'm glad she did). In the meantime she walked over to an IHOP restaurant and had dinner with Ian. I'm really glad she had that time alone. Ian slept for most of it and she was able to drink coffee and sit at the desk and write Christmas cards. She really enjoyed the peace and quiet she said and I believe her. :)

After dinner we came back to the hotel and went swimming of course. Kids had a blast. We finally turned off the lights around 9:15pm. My dad has the adjoining room right next door, so the kids loved that they could just walk thru to Grandpa's room.

I believe we played today for the most part outside as I had the day off work. Having trouble remembering now. My dad got in on the plane yesterday so we had our Thanksgiving dinner then.

I remember for sure that I had my first Ural breakdown. Went to the grocery store to get milk and gas and after filling up with gas, the bike would not restart. ugh. Took me a good 25 minutes before I barely got it to start and get home. Amanda had to go back out to get milk. Ooops. I really need to take the carbs entirely apart and clean them good.

Started cooking all the sides early. My favorite part of the day. The kitchen in full swing with smells going through the house. Ran out around Noon to pick up my dad from the airport - we all were amazed he was able to make it in on the flight. He said it was booked solid.

We sat down to a full 12 side dish meal and the turkey around 5pm. MMmmm, it was great as usual. My dad was really suprised of all the side dishes we make every year. Those are my favorite part by far. Of course we all ate too much and suffered later.

Sorry, I know it's a big chunk of time, but I just can't recall this far back.
