Getting Closer

-- 12 December 2006 [Tuesday]

Another super busy day at work. This release is just getting crazier the closer it gets to the deadline. I'm counting the days until we are done.

Crazy day at work. I came in early as I had to be home in time to meet Keegan at the bus stop since Amanda took Ian and Carson to a birthday party for Anastasia (Carson's Class) at Pump-It-Up. They had a great time and were home around 6pm. As Amanda pulled in the driveway, Ian threw up in the truck. Yuck. But luckily the car seat and floor mats caught it all. We really thought he was over his sickness. He seemed fine afterwards. I think it was too much for his stomach after having not really eaten for a day or so.
Keegan and I had a nice QUIET time at home from 4-6pm. We talked, he watched a movie while I finished work, and then we worked on his homework. It was really nice. As soon as Carson and Ian were home though, it was like a spark in Keegan and he got wild again. I guess that was a taste of what it would be like with only one child. I think he would be much quieter and reserved - perhaps, who knows.
I watched the Bears on ESPN Monday Night Football, beat the St. Louis Rams. Good game and fun to watch.

A wonderful day indeed. Keegan and I left around Noon as Amanda, Carson and Ian had a birthday party for Robey to go to at Chuck-E-Cheese. It was a zoo Amanda said. In the meantime, Keegan and I did an errand, we then went to a mans house who was selling a toy train Amanda found on Craigslist. It was a great deal at $20. Keegan's eyes were huge as the man was showing it to us in his garage. He was so excited, but didn't say a word. He promised not to say anything to either Carson or Ian so it will be a suprise. It's actually for Ian at Christmas, but of course they all will play with it.
We then went to Wendy's to get Keegan a burger for lunch and he ate in the truck at the Hemlock Bluffs park nearby. After lunch he and I walked the 'bridge' trail. We were all alone. It was *** terrific *** ! I have not had such a nice relaxing time with just him since I can remember. It was very peaceful. I cannot describe it in words. He walked the whole path with me. We would stop and look, talk about things, listen to the sounds, and even race each other once-in-awhile. It was just a fantastic moment for him and I. He really enjoyed it as well, but was tired at the end. We were there for almost an hour. I will remember this for a long time to come.
We got home and worked on the Ural together to drain the gas tank. I made a huge mess of gas all over the garage floor, so we aired the place out and went for a jeep ride until Amanda came home (which was minutes later).

Can't remember too much - but nothing out of the ordinary for us.
